SEMA at ICFP 2022

We’re excited to announce that SEMA Reproductive Health will be at the 2022 International Conference on Family Planning in Pattaya City, Thailand on 14 – 17 November!

Under the theme “Family Planning & Universal Health Coverage: Innovate. Collaborate. Accelerate.”, SEMA is delighted to be joining a strong community of SRH advocates, leaders, researchers and more to discuss emerging evidence, implementation successes and promising solutions toward creating healthy, equitable and resilient SRH markets that allow all people, especially women and adolescent girls, to control their health and future.

SEMA hosted panel | Making sexual and reproductive health markets work for all: The SEMA approach to collaboration for commodity access

Join SEMA and partners working to promote greater collaboration between global and country actors to create healthy, equitable, and resilient sexual and reproductive health markets for a deep dive into how solutions to common markets challenges may vary across the globe – focus on Senegal, Nigeria, Kenya, and across broader Francophone West and Central Africa. AIDS Vaccine Advocacy Coalition (AVAC) hosted event | Ushering in a New Era of Choice for Comprehensive SRH and HIV Prevention: How new family planning and HIV product introduction is shaping markets | Entrée dans une nouvelle ère du choix pour les SSR complets et prévention du VIH : Comment l’introduction de nouveaux produits de planification familiale et liés au VIH façonnent les marchés?

This event will highlight market efforts to break the silos and meet consumer’s holistic needs. It will include stories of product introduction and collaborative partnerships. And Blair Hanewall will be presenting an abstract entitled “From Pushing Products to Strengthening Markets: Redesigning SRH Market Shaping | De la promotion des produits au renforcement des marchés : Reconceptualiser le façonnage des marchés de la SSR” highlighting how SEMA is supporting country and global partners to design markets that meet consumers’ needs and promote a collaborative ecosystem that enables a more efficient and portfolio approach to SRH product introduction. FP2030 hosted Live Stage session | FP Partnerships – The whole is greater than the sum of its parts

The FP2030 Live segments will highlight the range and diversity of FP2030 Commitments in engaging and creative conversations. The session will feature representatives from family planning partnerships who will share their unique contributions to challenges in the family planning sector: what unites them around a shared goal, and how their work uniquely advances access and use of FP. SEMA hosted session | The Future State of SRH Commodity Financing & Procurement/L’état futur du financement et de l’achat des commodités de SSR

2:40 to 4:00 PM ICT (GMT +7) | PEACH Plenary Hall

Co-hosted by SEMA and the Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition, this event will bring together a range of stakeholders in dialogue on opportunities to strengthen global and national systems for financing and procuring SRH commodities. Speakers will review recent research about current structures for financing and procuring SRH commodities and present recommendations that can help deliver more country-led, sustainable, equitable and resilient access.
